The EU Summit for the Western Balkans is an intergovernmental initiative that aims to promote cooperation and the integration of Western Balkan countries into the European Union. This process includes Western Balkan countries such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia, as well as several EU member states.
The EU – Western Balkans Summits are held annually and aim to discuss important issues such as the economy, infrastructure, energy, and security, to promote stability and development in the region and to prepare these countries for EU membership. The summit also aims to strengthen relations between Western Balkan countries and help resolve conflicts and open issues.
Within the framework of these summits, various projects and initiatives have been implemented aimed at improving the infrastructural and economic connectivity of the region, increasing opportunities for youth, and improving governance and the rule of law. The summit has also contributed to improving political dialogue and cooperation between Western Balkan countries and EU member states.
